Snowboarding Alumni inspires College students
Last week, our college students were inspired by a visit from former Moor House student, Brydie Bailey.
Currently working as a Snowboard Instructor in Canada, Brydie, who attended the college from 2014-2017, spoke about her journey since leaving Moor House, encouraging students to show openness and perseverance as they prepare for their next steps.
Brydie, who has dyslexia, described how being open and honest about what she finds difficult, and sharing strategies with her colleagues, has not only helped her, but benefitted others within her work environment too.
She also highlighted the need for determination, explaining some of the challenges she had overcome to get her snowboarding qualification, including driving all the way to Andorra for the exam.
Her words made a great impact, with students keen to ask questions and learn about her experiences.
