Parent Karen to run London Marathon

We are delighted to announce that Karen Isaac, whose son Fraser attends Moor House, will be running the Virgin London Marathon in aid of the School & College in October.

Update - after months of training unfortunately Karen has had to withdraw from the London Marathon due to injury (torn tendon). We wish her a speedy recovery and thank everyone who has still kindly donated to Moor House School & College.

Karen was introduced to running when she started her first job with the company organising a 3-mile handicapped run every week. Here she met her now best friend and they ran together each week, progressing to half-marathons and ultimately their first full marathon in Glasgow in 1988.

This will not be Karen’s first London Marathon experience, having run on two previous occasions, including the hottest London Marathon on record, raising over £6000 and achieving an impressive personal best of 4 hours 38 minutes.

Having entered the ballot for the last two years without success, Karen was elated to see the opportunity to run for Moor House in her inbox. She credits running with keeping her fit and sane over the last year while working from home for a Canadian Telecoms company.

Just as importantly she feels that it is a great opportunity to give something back to the school. I’m sure you join us in wishing Karen the best of luck.

If you would like to sponsor Karen then please visit her fundraising page and feel free to share the link with friends and family.
