Former student completes another sponsored walk for Moor House
A former student is celebrating the end of another sponsored walk in aid of Moor House, nearly 25 years after his first.
David Woodward, who attended the school from 1980-87, was featured in the Surrey Mirror (pictured) for a 70 mile sponsored walk in 1995, and recently completed his latest effort, a 50 mile trek around the New Forest.
David, who now runs his own advertising business operating across the South East, has raised £9,000 for the school Welfare Fund since 2013 alone thanks to the generous support of friends, clients and business contacts.
He also has no plans to stop, with another walk along the south coast between Brighton and Worthing planned for February.
David said: “I enjoy walking and it’s a great way for me to give something back to Moor House, who did so much for me.
“I firmly believe that if it was not for the support I got from Moor House, I would not be married, have kids or be running my own business today.”
Moor House School & College Bursar & Business Manager Jemma Kingham said: “We are very proud of the fantastic outcomes we achieve for our students at Moor House and the impact it has on them for the rest of their lives.
“Many of our former students give something back to the school in various ways, but David’s fundraising efforts over such a long period of time are quite exceptional and we are very grateful to him for his continued support.”
