Friends of Moor House Open Morning
Friends of Moor House, a voluntary association which aims to help and support our students and staff in various ways, held its first open morning on Wednesday 13th November.
Current and prospective friends were invited to hear a brief update on our current developments and talk about how they may be able to help.
Members were able to view some impressive examples of the student’s work and chat to them over refreshments. The students who met with former staff, parents, former students and members of the local community, were once again outstanding ambassadors to the school and college.
Our wonderful new video featuring our talented students was shown and our visitors were treated to a tour of the campus to see the work we do in action.
Chair of the committee, John Stevens, and Moor House Principal Mrs Middleton spoke of the importance of spreading the word amongst our neighbours of the work that takes place at Moor House, and that our growing group of Friends are so important in making that happen.
Some members have already shown interest in helping in practical ways such as walking Molly the therapy dog, gardening or practice interviews.
We are always looking for new members so please get in touch if you’d like to be involved or have any ideas of activities that Friends of Moor House could undertake to support the school.
