Creative Key Stage 2, 3 and 4 students recently came together to design and make a beautiful Islamic art mosaic in a two day workshop with mosaic artist Oliver Budd.
The project started about a month ago in Art and Pottery lessons where the children designed Mosques, symmetrical designs and other Islamic images. These designs were then sent to Oliver Budd who took aspects of all the work to create one big Mosque.
The students then took part in a 2 day workshop on 2nd and 3rd February with each class coming for one hour to add mosaic tiles to the design.
At the end of the 2 days we had a celebratory Assembly and all looked at the finished piece.
The beautiful piece of art now proudly hangs in the school reception.
